Team GT Academy Takes the Overall Win and Leads the Blancpain Endurance Series

On 20 June (local time), the “Paul Ricard 1000 km” was held at the Paul Ricard circuit in France, Round 3 of the Blancpain Endurance Series. The Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 (#23/PRO Class) of the Nissan GT Academy Team RJN (Wolfgang Reip/Alex Buncombe/Katsumasa Chiyo) took the overall win, and this is actually the first time that a Nissan car has achieved an overall victory in this race. Furthermore, thanks to this victory the 3 drivers have also risen to the top of the leaderboard in the PRO class.

Car #23 started the race final in 7th position and after avoiding an accident that happened right after the start, steadily raised through the ranks. 3 hours later, they overtook the leading Lamborghini and drove a rock solid race for the remaining 6 hours. The next round will be the 24 Hours of Spa (21-26 July) and the team has gained great momentum towards the climax of the series.

The GT-R NISMO GT3 #22 car (Mark Schulzitsky/Gaëtan Paletou/Ricardo Sánchez) was 2nd in class until just 1 hour before the end of the race, but unfortunately dropped to 12th place in the end due to mechanical issues.
