Product Overview

'Gran Turismo' first released as 'The Real Driving Simulator' in 1997. The game’s lineup of familiar production cars from real-life manufacturers and the ability to drive them in a realistic virtual world were met with high praise not only from gamers, but automotive enthusiasts across the globe alike. 25 years and several iterations later, Gran Turismo returns as the culmination of the series core concepts. Drive. Collect. Customise. Experience all the joy of cars in the world of 'Gran Turismo 7.'

Over 400 cars from more than 60 automotive brands

'Gran Turismo 7' features over 400 cars from more than 60 automotive manufacturers. From familiar production models to rare and legendary racing vehicles, cars from all eras and the world over have been meticulously recreated in-game. Additionally, extra cars have been added to the game via regular content updates since release. Look forward to discovering the hidden gems of the world of automobiles.

Tracks from 37 locations with 110 layouts

The list of tracks that serve as the stage for all the racing action feature the usual mix of real-life circuits and original courses, taking players to 37 different locations for a total of 110 unique layouts. Classic series circuits from the original 'Gran Turismo' such as 'Trial Mountain,' 'Deep Forest,' and 'High Speed Ring' make a comeback updated to the latest advancements in technology. Similar to cars, additional tracks have also been added to the game via regular content updates since release.

Drive cars

One of the series’ mainstays is the realistic feeling of driving, and has been the philosophy behind every iteration since the first game. Gran Turismo 7 develops this philosophy even further to ensure everyone is able to enjoy the fun of sports driving: from beginners who are playing Gran Turismo for the first time all the way up to the most experienced players. There are a number of ways to play: take part in carefully curated races, try out some of the car-based mini-games in 'Missions,' learn the basics of racing step-by-step in the ‘Licence Centre’ or even take the race online and meet other players from around the world.

Learn about and collect cars

The world is full of amazing and exciting cars. Gran Turismo 7 shines a spotlight on the long history of cars and their culture as the player collects them. The game is designed to allow players to learn about the origins of each model and their place in history naturally as the game progresses. Economy compacts, sports cars, historic vehicles, thoroughbred race cars and more; set out on the road to become a car collector in Gran Turismo 7.

Customise cars

Customising a car to fit your own style is one of the most expressive ways for motor fans to enjoy their vehicles. In Gran Turismo 7, not only can cars be tuned to increase performance, but the exteriors can also be painted and modified. In addition to featuring over 130 wheel designs and 650 different aero parts, players can now add roll cages and perform wide body conversions on certain models. Get ready to create your very own perfect car.

Photograph cars

A proud owner can sit and admire their cars for hours. In 'Scapes,' players can recreate the feeling of going on holiday driving their car, carefully photographing it in one of the over 2,500 spots. The system allows camera novices to snap photos in an easy and enjoyable way, while the more experienced photographer can adjust the aperture, focus and exposure or experiment with a variety of filters to create that perfect picture. Keen photographers can even photograph themselves on track in the 'Race Photo' mode. Create exciting images with dynamic angles that would never be possible in real racing.

Gran Turismo 7’s aspiration for entertainment and realism

Take off on your car life journey across the World Map

Start with a limited amount of money, purchase a used car, earn money through different racing events then tune your car or buy a new one to take on harder races. The core gameplay loop that was established with the original Gran Turismo returns. Enjoy your own car life in a new, richer World Map. Of course, you don’t have to take the journey by yourself, you can play locally with friends in '2P Split Screen' mode or go online and race with other players from around the world as well. Meet and chat with motorsports enthusiasts through Gran Turismo 7.

Music meets racing in 'Music Rally' and 'Music Replay'

New with Gran Turismo 7, 'Music Rally' is a new casual way to enjoy driving where music meets racing. Different from competitive races, in this mini-game players must try to drive as far as possible as their remaining 'beats' tick down in time to the rhythm. At the end of the song players will receive a reward based on the distance covered. Enjoy a new kind of exhilarating driving feeling backed by familiar music tracks. Another exciting new feature is the 'Music Replay' system which automatically generates camera positions and cuts during replays to fit the music. Enjoy watching back your favourite races with your favourite music.

New improved physics simulation model

With over 25 years of development behind it, this title sees the greatest advancements yet in Gran Turismo’s physics simulation model for cars. Using computational fluid dynamics, the game is able to recreate the changes in downforce due to front to rear height changes, as well as effects to handling due to wind direction and air turbulence. As well as pursuing realism in physics, feedback has been collected from various sources including our adviser Lewis Hamilton, our technical partner and global tyre manufacturer Michelin, and the best drivers of the FIA GT Championships to create the most natural driving feeling possible.

Time and weather changes based on global data

As you drive under wide open blue skies, dark clouds begin to form and pour down torrential rain before clearing up to blue skies again. Start driving in the middle of the starlit night and see the morning sun set the sky ablaze with orange as you cross the finish line. Just as in real life, in Gran Turismo 7 the environment is constantly changing. These time and weather changes are made possible by a simulation model made using extensive climate data taken from each track location. The result is a breathtakingly realistic and beautiful recreation of our sky.

Weather changes can alter the course of a race

Rain falls upon the track surface changing dry to wet. Though rain conditions have featured in previous versions, Gran Turismo 7 evolves this system even further, with a more accurate simulations of the road surface as it becomes wet and dries out. New expressions of natural phenomena are now possible. Even within the same wet track, puddles can form in some areas, and as more cars pass over the racing line the road dries out faster. Experience dramatic and dynamic races where anything can happen.

'Sport' mode expands the scope of e-motorsports

As well as offering a wealth of car entertainment, Gran Turismo 7 is also designed to support esports comprehensively. In ‘Sport’ mode, anyone can easily take part in races with players from around the world with Daily Races, or the official Online Championship which has been running every year since 2018. This championship includes not only online races, but also features live events open to the top ranked players of the year. The action from all the races happened so far can be watched on 'Gran Turismo LIVE.' Some of these top players even feature as characters within Gran Turismo 7.

Experience even richer and more immersive gameplay on PlayStation®5 console

Ray tracing to maximise visuals, and high immersion through sounds and sense

Gran Turismo 7 is fully optimised for the PlayStation®5 console. Using ray tracing, one of the latest trends in video game technology, cars look more stunning, and tracks look more realistic and natural than ever. With 4K and HDR support, this is the most graphically impressive game in the series yet. It also makes full use of the Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers of the DualSense™ wireless controller: highly expressive vibrations as well as feedback from the triggers allows the player to sense the conditions of the car and road surfaces as they drive. The game also supports 3D Audio, which accurately recreates the direction of the various sounds of the race coming at the player.

Full PlayStation®VR2 support. Experience a whole new level of immersive gameplay.

Full support for PlayStation®VR2 (only available on the PlayStation®5 version of ‘Gran Turismo 7’.) Players can experience every race, online event, and game mode (excluding 2P Split Screen mode) with an entirely new level of realism and take in all the stunning details of the ultra high-definition car models in a variety of locations and lighting settings in the exclusive 'VR Showroom.' Gran Turismo 7 takes full advantage of PS VR2’s next-gen features. Utilising specially optimised HDR tone mapping, foveated rendering from the eye-tracking feature (a technology that renders areas of the screen that the player is directly looking at in high definition), and dynamic 3D audio support, players will experience a whole new dimension of highly immersive gameplay. (Please note that GT7 is not compatible with the PlayStation VR2 Sense™ controller.)
