Kazunori Yamauchi awarded with the ‘Premio de Honor’

"Hola, soy Kazunori Yamauchi. Es un honor para mí recibir este premio". With these words in Spanish the Polyphony Digital CEO and Gran Turismo series designer received the “Honor Prize” by the Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Interactivas last Friday night.

At the end of his brief speech, Yamauchi-san admited that it was the first time he uttered a few words in another language, the crowd really appreciated it. It happened yesterday night during the Gala “V Premios Nacionales a la Industria del Videojuego” (Spanish National Prizes of the Gaming Industry) within the context of Gamelab 2012 held in Barcelona, where Yamauchi-san is attending: "Receiving this prize in a city like Barcelona, where very talented artists as Gaudí or Picasso used to expose their art, has a very important meaning for me", Yamauchi-san said.

The gala was presented by the showman Alex O'Doherty, but it also count on the virtual presence of the Spanish Education Minister José Ignacio Wert, who wanted to congratulate the entire Spanish videogame industry for "creating an excellent job-opportunity niche in our country".
