TOYOTA GAZOO Racing GT Cup 2023 Online Qualifying Round 4 Opens on 25 June!

The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing GT Cup 2023 Online Qualifying Round 4 will be held on 25 June.

This round will feature the following car and track combination.

All the players who enter this round will receive a free GR010 Hybrid, complete with the 2023 livery for use in-game!

Toyota GR86 RZ '21

A bigger engine but with the same concepts behind it. Japan's representative lightweight FR sports car.

Since its introduction in 2012, more than 200,000 units of the Toyota 86 were sold around the world, solidifying its place in the history books as one of the most popular front-engine/rear-wheel drive compact sports cars of all time.

Nine years after the 86's debut, Toyota introduced the GR86, a high-performance version of the car that wore the Gazoo Racing badge (GR). While maintaining the virtues of the original car, namely a lightweight body and superb handling, Toyota engineers equipped the GR86 with a larger engine. Under the bonnet was a 2.4-litre flat-4 that replaced the 2.0-litre variant. Power came in at an impressive 231.8 BHP/7,000 rpm with maximum torque peaking at 25.5 kgfm/3,700 rpm. This translated to a 0-62.1 mph acceleration time of 6.3 seconds, which was a stark improvement over the 7.4 seconds of the first-generation model.

To enhance the 86's handling, the company's chassis engineers stiffened the body and adopted aluminium in the roof panel to lower the centre of gravity, as well as reduce overall weight. With the GR86, Toyota offered sports-car enthusiasts exactly what they were hoping for with the 86: a meaner, faster version of the car that was designed for the race track.

Subaru BRZ S '21

The 2nd gen. compact FR sports car features a larger 2.4L engine.

A collaborative effort between Subaru and Toyota resulted in the front boxer engine, rear-wheel drive Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86 sports cars. In 2020, these sister cars would be renewed for their 2nd generation (ZD8) models.

In this process, the new platform carried over improvements from the late model original, while incorporating Subaru's inner frame construction through the entire chassis. This allowed for extra rigidity and reduced weight. The combination of a traditional Subaru 4-cylinder boxer engine with Toyota-developed direct injection was also carried over to the new model. The biggest change to the formula though was the cylinder bore had been enlarged, increasing the engine displacement from 2 to 2.4L. This increased the power output to 173 kW (231.8 BHP)/250 Nm (25.5 kgfm) allowing for improved drivability across all conditions. The transmission was available as either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic unit, with the automatic model featuring the EyeSight driver assistance system as standard equipment.

The model featured here is the 'S' grade, a high-end luxury model which features improved interior and exterior equipment such as the 18-inch wheels, ultra suede and leather combination seats, as well as an 8-speaker car stereo.
