Trial Mountain Circuit

Trial Mountain is a classic Gran Turismo track set in a mountainous area, somewhat reminiscent of the Nürburgring. The track features diverse scenery throughout, with narrow mountain paths, tunnels and forests. It is a high speed circuit with mainly mid- to high-speed corners, with long full-throttle sections to let loose. However the corners here are somewhat tricky, and require drivers to follow a precise driving line to clear smoothly. There are many locations where there is no corner exit visibility, requiring early steering operations in anticipation for what lies ahead.

It is an average length track at approximately 4km long. But what will prove to be the most difficult is the large elevation change of roughly 50m total. Especially on high-speed descending corners, it may be hard to place the load on the front wheels properly and cars are more susceptible to understeer. Don't let the high-speed straightaways and easy-looking corners fool you; this track takes technical prowess to master. And because it is a high speed circuit, it is better suited for high-powered cars rather than cars with smaller displacement.

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is a real-life circuit located in Monterey, California, and is one of the most well-known courses on the west coast. Many major international races, for both cars and motorcycles, are held here throughout racing season, and it is also famous as a hotspot for historic car events.

At 3.6km long, it is relatively compact for a US circuit. However it is full of technical low- to mid-speed corners, and your lap time will depend on how well you can raise your cornering speed. Controlling speed in sharp corners at various parts of the track will prove difficult, and you will need to carefully feel out your braking points and the rhythm for accelerating out of the corners.

The circuit is famous for its grueling "Corkscrew" corner which rapidly drops in elevation. It is not possible to see the clipping point of the corner from the top of the hill as you approach, and it is easy to go too fast into the corner and end up running off the track. You will need to accurately anticipate what is ahead to execute proper braking.
