For both the Nations Cup and Manufacturer Series of the "FIA Gran Turismo Championships" 2021, "Star Players" will be selected from those competing in the following events:
- Season 1: 2020 World Finals
- Season 2: 2021 World Series Showdown
Also, the "FIA Gran Turismo Championships" 2021 Series is now open to the countries and territories listed below. Participants from these newly added locations will be eligible for Star Player selection in Season 2 of the 2021 Series.
- South Africa, India (excluding the State of Nagaland), Bulgaria
- State of Arizona (USA), Province of Quebec (Canada)

Registration for Star Player status is available only to competitors 18 years old and up. In certain countries and territories, competitors must be at least 21 years old to enter. Star Player registration prerequisites are subject to change during the series in response to current players' participation status.
