About the World Series

Modern automotive racing traces its origins to 1894 in Paris. More than a century later, the Gran Turismo World Series began in 2018 as the “motorsport of the future,” an official competition to crown the world’s best Gran Turismo driver.

The 2026 World Series will be contested across four live events, where top drivers from the Online Qualifiers, along with seeded competitors, will battle for the championship title. Milan will host the opening round, marking the series’ first visit to Italy.

The championship features the top-ranked manufacturers from the Online Qualifiers, along with official partners, for a total of 12 teams. Points will be awarded at each round and at the World Finals, where all three teammates will compete together for the Manufacturers Cup title. Each manufacturer will be represented by a three-driver team, composed of the top qualifier from the Europe/Middle East/Africa, Americas, and Asia-Oceania regions. Round 1 in Milan will feature the 12 drivers from the Europe/Middle East/Africa region.

The Nations Cup is a competition in which drivers represent their home country or territory. The field features 12 of the world’s top drivers, including the highest finishers from each region’s Online Qualifiers and the top three drivers from the 2025 World Series points standings, who enter as seeded competitors. Milan will mark their first opportunity to earn World Series points and set the tone for the 2026 championship.
