Gran Turismo World Series 2022
World Finals Race Structure

Nations Cup

A total of 30 drivers consisting of the top 12 drivers from the GTWS Showdown Nations Cup event and the 18 best-ranked drivers across all Regions in the GTWS Nations Cup Online Series - Season 2 will be competing in the Nations Cup Final.

A general qualifying for the Nations Cup will be held to determine grid positions for each Regional Finals and the order of priority of the Regions.

After the qualifying, there will be 3 Regional Finals (Europe/Middle East/Africa, Americas, and Asia-Oceania.)

The top three drivers from each Regional Final will earn points and advance to the Grand Final. Drivers in 4th to 7th place will advance to the Repechage.

The top three drivers from the Repechage will also earn points and advance to the Grand Final.

At the end of the Grand Final, the points earned from the 2022 World Series, Regional Finals, Repechage and Grand Final races will be totalled and the driver with the most points will be crowned the Nations Cup World Champion for 2022.

The 2022 Champion will be decided based on all 'World Series Points' earned from the World Series Rd.1 to the Grand Final.

In the event of a points tie, the title will be awarded to the driver who finishes higher in the Grand Final.

Manufacturers Cup

The Manufacturers Cup is contested by the top-ranked manufacturers in the 2022 Online - Season 2 'Global Manufacturer Rankings,' together with our manufacturer partners Toyota, Genesis, and Mazda, totalling 12 teams.

A driver from each of the 3 Regions (Europe/Middle East/Africa, Americas, and Asia-Oceania) will be selected for each automobile manufacturer to form a three-man team.

In the Manufacturers Cup World Finals, two races will be held and teams will compete for points.

A qualifying is run by one driver elected from each team, and the grid positions for Race 1 are determined according to this result.

Both Race 1 and the Final will be a team battle with driver changes.

The result of Race 1 will determine the starting grid for the Final.

'World Series Points' are awarded for Race 1 and the Final.

'World Series Points' are also awarded from the World Series Rounds as starting points.

At the end of the Final race, the team with the most points will be crowned the Manufacturers Cup World Champion for 2022.

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing GT Cup

The TGR GT Cup is a Series contested using Toyota vehicles from the GR lineup, including GR road and racing cars.

A total of 24 drivers, including 21 of the top-ranked competitors from the 7 Rounds of the 2022 Online Series (based on their 4 best Rounds), and 3 competitors that have won their way through the regional TGR selection events.

In the TGR GT Cup, a General Qualifying will be held to determine the groups' composition and grid positions for the Semi-finals.

Subsequently, all 24 drivers will be divided into 2 groups of 12 and compete in a Semi-final race.

The top 4 in each Semi-final will move to the Grand Final and 5th to 10th will move to the Repechage.

The top 3 in the Repechage will move to the Grand Final.

At the end of the Grand Final race, the driver at the top of the ranking will be crowned the TGR GT Cup winner for 2022.
