The Gran Turismo World Series is a championship to determine the world’s best Gran Turismo players. The competition consists of an Online Qualifier open to all players and a live event component known as the World Series, where top players who advance from the qualifiers travel around the world to compete. The 2026 World Series season will begin in March in Abu Dhabi, marking the first time the event will be held in the Middle East. After Round 2 in Milan and Round 3, the season champion will be determined at the World Finals in Tokyo in December.

The journey to the Gran Turismo World Series kicks off with the Online Qualifiers, which begin on Wednesday, January 14. Participants will battle across six rounds in both the Nations Cup and Manufacturers Cup, showcasing their skill and sportsmanship. Those who excel here will earn a coveted spot in the main live events.

Every round of the Online Qualifiers will be introduced in the Sport section of Gran Turismo 7 three days before each round.

The Online Qualifiers follow a league-based format, ensuring balanced competition for all participants. Players are divided into three leagues (GT1, GT2, and GT3) based on their Driver Rating (DR). World Series contestants are selected from the top ranked competitors of the GT1 League, which includes top-tier drivers with a Driver Rating of "A" or higher.
