The Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo is an electric hypercar sculpted by the wind. Its teardrop-shaped cockpit was embedded within a body shaped by cutouts and air ducts, creating aerodynamic channels throughout the vehicle. The signature halo-shaped taillight served as both a visual icon and a massive air outlet. Together with innovations such as the Active Wake Control System and Accretion Rims, the car achieved a drag coefficient of 0.29, a downforce figure of -1.2 and an aerodynamic efficiency rating of 4.1 through extensive simulation, striking an impressive balance between low drag and high downforce.
"Electric hypercars must answer a fundamental question," said Tianyuan Li, Design Head of Xiaomi Auto. "Do we pursue extremely low drag for straight-line speed, or maximum downforce to conquer corners? The optimal solution lies in finding the perfect balance between the two." This approach also impressed Gran Turismo series producer Kazunori Yamauchi. "When I saw that Xiaomi had resolved the contradiction between low drag and high downforce, I was truly amazed."
Inside, Xiaomi introduced the "Sofa Racer" concept. The instrument panel, door panels and seats formed a continuous ring-shaped structure, creating a cocoon-like cockpit that gently enveloped the driver. Equipped with intelligent features including Xiaomi Pulse and Xiaomi HyperVision, the cabin created an experience best described as racing from a sofa. True to the Xiaomi ecosystem, it was fully integrated into the company's "Human x Car x Home" smart ecosystem. By sensing the driver's condition and adapting to individual needs, it transformed the car from a mere tool into an intuitive companion.
Following the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra's record-setting Nürburgring performance and its addition to Gran Turismo 7, this latest creation represented the next chapter in the collaboration, forging a path distinct from the gasoline-powered past that Yamauchi believed "will become a role model for this era."
