'Gran Turismo Sport' Unveils New Nürburgring Documentary at Gamescom
Gamescom, one of Europe’s biggest gaming events, gets under way this year on 17 August in Cologne, Germany and will feature a specially-constructed 'Gran Turismo Sport' booth where you can play the game for yourself. (Note that access to the general public is from 18 to 21 August.)
The design for the 'Gran Turismo Sport' booth is based on the famous Caracciola-Karussell corner on the Nordschleife (North Loop) of the Nürburgring with fifteen gaming stations lining the banked curve of this iconic hairpin corner. You’ll also be able to get an up-close look at the latest Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 model, driven by Kazunori Yamauchi in this year’s Nürburgring 24 Hour race.
To tie in with the theme of this year’s Gran Turismo gamescom display, a new documentary, 'MADE FROM REALITY', will be unveiled featuring footage shot at this year’s Nürburgring 24 Hour race. With hail hammering down on the cars right from the start, countless crashes and cars skidding off the track, the Nürburgring fully lived up to its nickname as ‘the Green Hell’ in this race. The documentary follows Kazunori Yamauchi and his team from their preparations for the race right up to the chequered flag and features beautifully-shot footage and interviews with some of the key people who made it happen.
