Sony AI demonstrated its most recent progress in the development of the AI agent ‘Gran Turismo Sophy’ (GT Sophy) at the Gran Turismo World Series 2022 Showdown event, which took place on 30 and 31 July at Red Bull Hangar-7 in Salzburg, Austria.

Since its unveiling in February 2022, Sony AI has continued to evolve the capabilities of GT Sophy, which was developed in collaboration between Polyphony Digital, Sony AI and Sony Interactive Entertainment, to make GT Sophy more accessible to the greater Gran Turismo driver community.

In support of that goal, an exhibition race featuring GT Sophy going head-to-head with the best GT drivers Valerio Gallo, Igor Fraga, Emily Jones, and Tomoaki Yamanaka took place on 31 July. The race is available to watch from the GTWS Showdown Nations Cup stream archive.
