The city of Amsterdam plays host to the World Finals of the Gran Turismo World Series 2024 from 6-8 December. Theater Amsterdam, next to the River IJ in the Houthavens area, will be the venue for three days of thrilling racing as the best Gran Turismo racers in the world battle to become 2024 Nations Cup and Manufacturers Cup World Champions.

Events

Friday, 6 December – TOYOTA GAZOO Racing GT Cup

The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing GT Cup is the perfect start to a weekend of ultra-competitive racing. The field of 24 drivers, selected from a mixture of online races and some live events, will feature some of the fastest Gran Turismo World Series drivers looking to make a confidence-building, winning start to their World Finals weekend. In their way will be a number of new faces looking to establish themselves as future stars and take the first trophies on offer in Amsterdam.

Saturday, 7 December – Manufacturers Cup

The Manufacturers Cup showcases a variety of stunning cars in Gran Turismo. This is a team competition over the season, with the top 12 car makers from the Online Qualifiers rounds, including Official Partners Toyota, Genesis, and Mazda represented. One driver from each team took part in the opening three rounds in Montreal, Prague, and Tokyo, but they will join up to compete as 12 teams of three drivers for the World Finals.

Lexus were the Round 1 winners, before Ferrari took an unexpected and exciting victory in Round 2. Porsche’s consistency in finishing on the podium meant they were in the series lead as the action headed to Tokyo.

The reigning champions from the 2023 World Finals, staged in Barcelona, Team Nissan, did not qualify for the live events this year leaving the title race open and the scene set for an exciting denouement to the season in Amsterdam.

Sunday, 8 December – Nations Cup

The new-for-2024 Nations Cup sees the top 12 drivers from the Online Qualifiers representing their home country or territory in all three rounds and the World Finals with the points accumulating through the season.

Round 1 in Montreal saw 2020 Nations Cup Champion Takuma Miyazono from Japan hit top form with an excellent victory. In Prague, for Round 2, it was a popular and exciting victory for Italy’s Valerio Gallo, another former Champion who had struggled for consistency since winning the title in 2021. Meanwhile, podiums in the opening two rounds saw the double World Champion from Spain, Coque López, head to Round 3 in Tokyo with the Series lead.

Kaj de Bruin from the Netherlands scored points in Rounds 1 and 2 and will be looking to give the Dutch crowd a reason to cheer in the World Finals.
