GT6 “Goodwood Hillclimb” Updated to Coincide with the New "Goodwood Festival of Speed" Central Feature Unveiling Ceremony

On the 26th of June at 22:00 (local time), a new Central Feature for the "Goodwood Festival of Speed" has been revealed. The "Festival of Speed" is a motorsports festival held in West Sussex, UK, and the Central Feature is a structure representing each edition's manufacturer host, this year being Mercedes-Benz.

At the same time of the ceremony, the "Goodwood Hillclimb" track included in the PlayStation®3-exclusive title “Gran Turismo 6” was updated accordingly. Gran Turismo 6 players all over the world can now drive on the track and admire the new Central Feature in-game. (Please note that to update the track, a PlayStation®3 system connected to the internet is required).

The unveiling ceremony at Goodwood was conducted by Lord Charles March, the Festival host, and Michael Bock (Director, Mercedes-Benz Classic) with Gran Turismo series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi also in attendance.

In this year edition, Kazunori Yamauchi will be participating driving a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLS. This iconic car from the 50’s is one of the two 300 SL roadsters that were specifically modified to compete in the National Sports Car Championship of the "Sports Car Club of America".

A full scale model of the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo is also displayed on stage, marking the collaboration between the old and new Mercedes-Benz, Goodwood Festival of Speed and Gran Turismo.
