Gran Turismo for PSP and Gran Turismo 5 Announced
At today’s PlayStation E3 press conference held at the historic Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, Sony Computer Entertainment unveiled two new games to the best-selling Gran Turismo franchise. This October 1, 2009, gamers can look forward to taking Gran Turismo on the go with Gran Turismo exclusively for PSP. And for the PlayStation 3 home console, Gran Turismo 5 promises to deliver exciting advancements that will take the series to a new level.
Gran Turismo producer and series creator Kazunori Yamauchi took the stage to introduce the long-awaited PSP debut of Gran Turismo to the crowd. Demoing the game live on the newly announced “PSP go” hardware, broadcast to the giant screen on stage, Yamauchi showed off the cutting edge graphics and realistic driving physics that Gran Turismo is known for. Pushing the PSP hardware to the limits and running at 60 frames per second, Gran Turismo will offer players over 800 cars and 35 tracks to unlock and master when it goes on sale on October 1, 2009 along with the new “PSP go”.
Revealed through a thrilling two minute long teaser trailer, Gran Turismo 5 wowed fans with jaw-dropping graphics. The trailer featured new cars, tracks, and hinted at some of the new features in store for fans when GT5 becomes available for the PS3.
The full trailers, plus video of the press conference, is available through the PlayStation Store on the PS3 in high definition, and lower resolution versions of the trailers are available here on the official Gran Turismo website.
