Gran Turismo series creator and producer Kazunori Yamauchi was named one of the "100 Most Creative People in Business for 2009" by the well-known US business magazine Fast Company, making it to the number 28 spot on the list. Appearing in the June 2009 issue, the list features outstanding individuals from various fields, from mainstream business, to medical, defense, think-tanks, and more, shining a spotlight on "the teams and individuals who are inventing the future and reinventing business."

In addition to his ground-breaking Gran Turismo series, which has been a cultural and automotive industry phenomenon since its inception, Mr. Yamauchi also helped design some of the technology featured in Nissan’s latest GT-R supercar, which went on to be selected as Motor Trend’s 2009 Car of the Year.

Other visionaries on the top 100 list include Jonathan Ive, SVP of Industrial Design at Apple, at number one, Melinda Gates of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, at number 2, and Shai Agassi, CEO of Better Place, who are working to spread the use of electric cars, at number 3.
