Special Events are carefully crafted challenges that require drivers to do more than simply winning races. Each event progresses in a different way. Please follow the instructions for each event.

The Special Events that are available depend on the progress you have made in Career Mode. And just like in Career Mode, the aim is to achieve total mastery of each event!

Goodwood Festival of Speed

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the world's largest car and motorsport festival, taking place every July in the glorious grounds of a mansion owned by Lord Charles March, a renowned auto enthusiast. The highlight of the festival is undoubtedly the Goodwood Hillclimb. In the past, only certain celebrities have been allowed to take part in this prestigious event, a time trial between cars of various vintages and featuring various different drivetrains.

Lunar Exploration

The moon has captured the hearts of humans since time immemorial. Now it's your turn to visit our satellite and race around on its surface! Go for a drive through the Hadley Rille, in the foothills of the Montes apenninus, a mountain range that cuts into a lunar sea. This is where Apollo 15 landed on the 30th of July 1971 - the first time a vehicle was used on the surface of the moon. Experience gravity that is one-sixth that of earth's, and revel in mankind's spectacular achievement!

Ayrton Senna Tribute

The legendary racing driver Ayrton Senna passed away, at the age of 34, on the 1st of May 1994, following an accident on the Imola racing circuit in Italy. The Ayrton Senna Tribute divides Senna's life into four stages, telling his story using photos and video footage. You will also have the opportunity to drive some of the cars he did, and compete in some of the same events. Take to the wheel of DAP kart #17, in which Senna captured the Karting World Championship, as well as his Formula 1 car, the Lotus 97T. You'll also get the chance to race around Brands Hatch as it was in Senna's 80s heyday, and try out a contemporary layout of Italy's Monza circuit.

Sierra Time Rally

Enjoy the scenery of Spain's Andalusia region as you take part in this intense time rally. This event takes place on the Circuito de la Sierra, a 27km-long track which circles around a water reservoir. Pass through the 11 checkpoints dotted along the course within the time limit, and aim for the finish. Skilfully overtaking the other cars that occasionally appear will allow you to form combos and score points at a faster rate. One of the keys to success in this event is knowing when to use your nitro for a temporary power boost.
