Ways of Connecting to the Internet

*The online services for “Gran Turismo 6” have been terminated. This function can no longer be used in-game.

To enjoy more stable online racing, connect your PlayStation®3 system directly to your broadband modem, instead of connecting it through a router. (Depending on your connection type, your broadband modem may be referred to as a "DSL Modem", "FTTH Modem" or "ONU".)

Please note that if you are connecting your PlayStation®3 system directly to your modem, you will first need to set up PPPoE. To set up PPPoE, select "Settings" from the PlayStation®3 system's XMB™, then select "Network Settings" -> "Internet Connection Settings" -> "Custom" -> "IP Address Settings". If you do not know your PPPoE user name or password, please contact your ISP.

When your PlayStation®3 system is connected directly to your broadband modem, you will not be able to use your PC or other network devices while you are taking part in online races. To use other network devices while racing online, please connect your PlayStation®3 system to the internet via a router. However, some router types and router settings will not allow you to take part in online races, and errors may occur.

Gran Turismo 6 allows you to connect your PlayStation®3 system to the internet either wirelessly or through a wired connection. However, for a more stable online racing experience, a wired connection is recommended.
