MANUFACTURER SERIES
BMW (Williams_Coque14) Win Again!
2019 Manufacturer Series - Stage 2 (EMEA Region)
09/09/2019

Stage 2 of the 2019 Manufacturer Series got underway on August 3rd. BMW (Williams_Coque14) were top of the pile after the first stage, enjoying a healthy lead over Subaru (TRL_LIGHTNING) in second place.

Subaru (TRL_LIGHTNING) did well in the early stages of the round, taking 2,949 points in Round 11 and 2,897 points in Round 12.

Other challengers got in on the point-scoring act as the stage reached its climax. Third-placed Mercedes-Benz (Veloce_StorM) took 2,956 points in Round 17 to move within striking distance of the lead and make things very interesting at the top of the table.

The second stage's final "Superstars" race took place on Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, and was contested between the top 16 drivers in Gr. 3 cars. Subaru (TRL_LIGHTNING) took pole position, looking to take advantage of the fact that BMW (Williams_Coque14) were not taking part in the race.

The lead changed hands immediately after the race had begun, with Mercedes-Benz (Veloce_StorM) making use of their speed on the straight to overtake Subaru (TRL_LIGHTNING) and take first place.
Things went from bad to worse for Subaru (TRL_LIGHTNING) as they were overtaken by Toyota (RC_Miura) on the second lap, falling further back into the chasing pack.
Mercedes-Benz (Veloce_StorM) took advantage of the tussles taking place behind them to increase their lead. Most of the leading pack had opted for a one-pit strategy, but Mercedes-Benz (Veloce_StorM) had elected to go without a pit stop. Their choice paid off as they kept up their pace throughout the race, their lead never under threat.
Having managed to avoid the chaos that engulfed other cars on the first lap, Mercedes-Benz (Veloce_StorM) were always in control of the race, and were able to secure a solid victory.

Alas, it wasn't enough to unseat BMW (Williams_Coque14) from the top of the rankings, and Mercedes-Benz (Veloce_StorM) had to settle for second place.
BMW (Williams_Coque14) made good use of the huge points total they'd racked up in the first series to remain on top after the second series and claim victory in the 2019 Manufacturer Series.
