Australia's Rising Star Dstinct_Andrew Takes the Crown in the Opening Season!

Season 1 of the Gran Turismo World Series Nations Cup 2022 Series got underway on the 28th of May. The event would take place in Gran Turismo 7's Sport mode for the first time, and would therefore be a test of how quickly the drivers could adapt to a new environment.

The Season's first race took place at the Suzuka Circuit. It would prove to be a showdown between the Australian teammates Dstinct_Andrew and Dstinct_Twitchy, with Dstinct_Andrew coming out on top.

Round 2 took place at the Autopolis International Racing Course, a technical circuit in Japan. The race was won by New Zealand's AE_McEwen, who crushed his rivals.

The super-high-speed layout of the 24 Heures du Mans Racing Circuit was the setting for Round 3. Australia's AE_Conzio came out on top, scoring the most points.

Round 4 took place at Sardegna - Road Track - A, and saw Dstinct_Andrew tighten his grip on the Season title, top-scoring with 360 points. In fact, it was a victory that saw him all but secure first place, opening up a huge lead on his nearest rival.

Round 5 took place on the Alsace - Test Course, a track with a tricky layout and many elevation changes. The race was won by the veteran New Zealander sidawg2, who had been enjoying something of a return to form in the second half of the Season.

The last race took place on the Watkins Glen Long Course, a track that was added in a recent update. In a race between drivers who had very little experience of the track, sidawg2 managed to chalk up a second successive victory. It wasn't enough to turn the tables at the top of the leaderboard, however, and Dstinct_Andrew claimed the Season 1 title for Australia.
