Solution for C. Broadband modem/ONU with built in broadband router + router

Current customer devices and connections

SolutionC-1 :
Remove the broadband router, and connect the PLAYSTATION®3 directly to the broadband modem/Optical Network Unit (ONU) with built in router (in bridge mode)

In this case, if the broadband router is removed, and the PLAYSTATION®3 is connected directly to the broadband modem/ONU with built in router (in bridge mode), your experience in the online races of “Gran Turismo 5 Prologue” may be improved.

* in PPPoE bridge mode

In this case, the connection setup will be identical to “A-1” , so for details, refer to the following page.

Solution A-1: Set the Modem/ONU with built in router to “PPPoE Bridge Mode”, and connect only the ”PLAYSTATION®3”.

SolutionC-2 :
Set the broadband router to “bridge mode”, and make “port forwarding” settings as necessary

If you need to use the internet from devices (PC, etc.) other than the PLAYSTATION®3 at the same time, it is not possible to remove the broadband router as described in solution C-1 above.

First, try setting the broadband router to which the PLAYSTATION®3 is connected to, to “bridge mode”. Just doing this may solve the problems you are experiencing. If this does not solve your problem, It may be necessary to make “port forwarding” settings to your broadband router, in addition to setting it to “bridge mode”.

Regarding “Port Forwarding”, please refer to the following page.
