This is an event hosted every year by 'Quattroruote', celebrating cars, technology, and people who have contributed to the advancement of automotive technology and the maturity of its culture. This year, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio received the 'Car of the Year' award, while Mazda’s SKYACTIV-X technology received the 'Global Tech' award. Osamu Suzuki, Chairman of Suzuki Motor Corporation, received the ‘Gianni Mazzocchi' award, named after the founder of the 'Quattroruote' magazine. These results made this event an occasion closely tied to Japan.

Mazda’s next generation combustion technology, SKYACTIV-X, received the 'Global Tech' award. Standing on stage is Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer of Mazda Motor Corporation, Kiyoshi Fujiwara.

Chairman of Suzuki Motor Corporation Mr. Osamu Suzuki received the 'Gianni Mazzocchi' lifetime achievement award for his provision of support to India through car manufacturing. Mr. Toshihiro Suzuki, current President and CEO of Suzuki Motor Corporation, received the award on Mr. Osamu’s behalf.

Preceding these award ceremonies, Kazunori Yamauchi gave a keynote presentation titled ‘The Future of the Automobile Industry and Gran Turismo”. He talked about how Gran Turismo, now in its 20th year, had always stood beside the automobile industry and motorsports, and how, through the Vision Gran Turismo projects and the FIA GT Championships, it intends to continue to move forward alongside them in the next 100 years.

Kazunori Yamauchi also introduced the reasons why he chose Umberto Boccioni's sculpture, the “Unique Forms of Continuity in Space”, as the trophy for the FIA GT Championships. He also touched upon the “Manifesto of Futurism”, of Futurist and poet Marinetti, introducing how that was where the passion for automobiles was born. His speech and presentation was met with great applause from the full crowd.

In the venue at the UniCredit Pavilion of Milan, after the award ceremonies an Audi Racing e-Challenge was hosted using Gran Turismo Sport: 150 talented Gran Turismo drivers driving the R8 LMS in-game showed great skills in a high level battle on the virtual track. Kazunori Yamauchi was present to award the winner, with all the fans excited to see him there.
